Outbreak of scurvy.?A tendency to scurvy having been noticed amongst the men under treatment in hospital for other and various affecions, the whole of the troops, &c, were inspected on the 23rd and following days in July, with the following result: ? In tho 15th B. C. 13 men & 3 Camp-followers showed a scorbutic taint. ,, Mt. Battery 29 ? 4 ? ? )f n ? 21st M. I. 22 ? ? ? ? M (> ? 30th >1. I. 14 ? 3 ? t> ? Dett. Sappers 2 ? ? )} (> In all?90 cases. So far as the supply of lime juice in camp would permit, the whole of these men were at once ordered a daily administration of lime juice ; and at the same time Officers Commanding corps were requested to impress upon their men the necessity of their availing themselves, as much as possible, of Whatever fresh vege. table food was obtainable in camp. The larger proportion of these cases still continue to attend hospital only for the administration of lime juice, but the more severe cases have been admitted, and on the present date (August 2oth) the numbers sick in hospital from the complaint were as follows :? 15th B.
